Sunshine Needed

February 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Sabbatical trip, Uncategorized

Less than 24 hours now before we depart on our trip!

Today’s New England weather is at its finest – 8 inches of snow and then 3 inches of downpour, flooding basement, icy steps and greyer out than an old cat. I’m glad it’s today though and not tomorrow. The weather report calls for a break of sun tomorrow, so we’ll hope that’s true.

But it means I have to leave behind a driveway and steps that are a mess of snow and ice. I’m sorry for the house-sitter; but I really should try not to worry as by June that snow and ice will be gone. But then again, it is New England!

We’ve pretty much finished our house chores, and the clothes luggage is just about ready to be zipped up. I think harder than packing light on the clothes end; it’s harder to decide what to carry for personal entertainment! We just need to pack up our carry-ons and copy important documents and that sort of thing.

There’s been more than one topic I’ve wanted to write abut the last few days, but I decided I’d wait until travel was under way to do some of that thinking.

So for now send your sunshine to Massachusetts and JFK airport tomorrow please!
